Sunday Sewing – Simple Girls Skirts

What better way to spend a wet Sunday than sew a few simple skirts up for my daughter. I used what I had in my stash of fabric, this fabric is from Ikea and is cotton, the pattern is a very simple elasticated waist skirt, you can make it more interesting my adding a ribbon trim for the hem, I didn’t have any ribbon to do that but maybe next time.

The pattern is available from: http://www.oliverands.com/blog/2008/08/lazy-days-skirt-free-pattern.html

This one was a little more complicated (although still fairly easy) as it has two panels, one panel having gathers in it to create a fuller more twirly skirt.  I used my vintage fabric for this one, again it is cotton so these skirts will be great for Summer, lets hope we have a good one this year!
