I am back from a fabulous time camping in North Norfolk. The pink camper cruised the English countryside with ease albeit slowly although we did manage to pass a tractor!
I had great visions of sitting peacefully working on my bird sculpture but the reality was so different, we were busy the whole time. Therefore, my bird is still unfinished and I have taken a short break from it as I wanted to develop a design that had been forming in my mind for a few weeks now.
I had started this abstract geometric design some months ago but it just didn’t work and I needed to develop it further with more lines and shapes. The above is the fat quarter view and below is the yard view, to give an idea of the design repeat.
I like the colours on this design but I wanted to develop other colours in order to get a good feel for this design and see what combination worked best. Therefore using the pink camper as inspiration, I added a hot pink colour to this design.
Finally, I thought it would be good to see this design in softer, pastel tones.
I find it interesting how changing the colour combinations can really change a design. I am still undecided which one is my favourite!
I have added all three designs to my Society6 shop and currently they are available as prints or cushions, I will be adding phone covers etc soon.
These are all available from my Society6 Shop – http://society6.com/MadexDesigns
Which colour palette is your favourite? Can you recommend any other colour palette that you think would look great in this design. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Glad you had a good trip! You’re pattern reminds me of the doors in Disney-Pixar’s Monster’s Inc.
Funny that you say that, my thoughts were of doors and windows but in an abstract kind of way! Thanks for your comment. 🙂
